Barzakh

They said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog¹ are [great] corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you an expenditure that you might make between us and them a barrier?"

He said, "That in which my Lord has established me is better [than what you offer], but assist me with strength [i.e., manpower]; I will make between you and them a dam.

Bring me bars of iron" - until, when he had leveled [them] between the two mountain walls, he said, "Blow [with bellows]," until when he had made it [like] fire, he said, "Bring me, that I may pour over it molten copper."

So they [i.e., Gog and Magog] were unable to pass over it, nor were they able [to effect] in it any penetration.

That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind."¹ No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier until the Day they are resurrected.

And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e., bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.

Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.

And prevention will be placed between them and what they desire,¹ as was done with their kind before. Indeed, they were in disquieting doubt [i.e., denial].

And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see.

He released the two seas,¹ meeting [one another];

Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses.
