Open Ayah
وَجَعَلۡنَاعَلَىٰقُلُوبِهِمۡأَكِنَّةًأَنيَفۡقَهُوهُوَفِيٓءَاذَانِهِمۡوَقۡرٗاۚوَإِذَاذَكَرۡتَرَبَّكَفِيٱلۡقُرۡءَانِوَحۡدَهُۥوَلَّوۡاْعَلَىٰٓأَدۡبَٰرِهِمۡنُفُورٗا٤٦
Saheeh International

And We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And when you mention your Lord alone in the Qur’ān, they turn back in aversion.

وَجَعَلْنَاWajaAAalna
عَلَىٰAAala
قُلُوبِهِمْquloobihim
أَكِنَّةًakinnatan
أَنan
يَفْقَهُوهُyafqahoohu
وَفِىٓwafee
ءَاذَانِهِمْathanihim
وَقْرًۭا ۚwaqran
وَإِذَاwaitha
ذَكَرْتَthakarta
رَبَّكَrabbaka
فِىfee
ٱلْقُرْءَانِalqurani
وَحْدَهُۥwahdahu
وَلَّوْا۟wallaw
عَلَىٰٓAAala
أَدْبَـٰرِهِمْadbarihim
نُفُورًۭاnufooran
41:5
Open Ayah
وَقَالُواْقُلُوبُنَافِيٓأَكِنَّةٖمِّمَّاتَدۡعُونَآإِلَيۡهِوَفِيٓءَاذَانِنَاوَقۡرٞوَمِنۢبَيۡنِنَاوَبَيۡنِكَحِجَابٞفَٱعۡمَلۡإِنَّنَاعَٰمِلُونَ٥
Saheeh International

And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work;1 indeed, we are working."

وَقَالُوا۟Waqaloo
قُلُوبُنَاquloobuna
فِىٓfee
أَكِنَّةٍۢakinnatin
مِّمَّاmimma
تَدْعُونَآtadAAoona
إِلَيْهِilayhi
وَفِىٓwafee
ءَاذَانِنَاathanina
وَقْرٌۭwaqrun
وَمِنۢwamin
بَيْنِنَاbaynina
وَبَيْنِكَwabaynika
حِجَابٌۭhijabun
فَٱعْمَلْfaiAAmal
إِنَّنَاinnana
عَـٰمِلُونَAAamiloona
