Allah Names

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord¹ of the worlds -

They say, "Allāh has taken a son." Exalted is He!¹ Rather, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are devoutly obedient to Him,

Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is.

So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allāh will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

And of the people is he who sells himself, seeking means to the approval of Allāh. And Allāh is Kind to [His] servants.

Divorced women remain in waiting [i.e., do not remarry] for three periods,¹ and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allāh has created in their wombs if they believe in Allāh and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation.² And due to them [i.e., the wives] is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable.³ But the men [i.e., husbands] have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living,¹ the Self-Sustaining.² Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them,³ and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī⁴ extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High,⁵ the Most Great.⁶

Allāh witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Allāh - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining.¹

Indeed, Allāh chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of ʿImrān over the worlds -

Descendants, some of them from others. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.

Whoever desires the reward of this world - then with Allāh is the reward of this world and the Hereafter. And ever is Allāh Hearing and Seeing.

And Allāh is most knowing of your enemies; and sufficient is Allāh as an ally, and sufficient is Allāh as a helper.

If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne.¹ He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

And Allāh made it not but good tidings and so that your hearts would be assured thereby. And victory is not but from Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Wise.

And [He also forgave] the three who were left alone [i.e., boycotted, regretting their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness¹ and their souls confined [i.e., anguished] them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allāh except in Him. Then He turned to them so they could repent. Indeed, Allāh is the Accepting of Repentance,² the Merciful.

For that is Allāh, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you averted?

So when Our command came, We saved Ṣāliḥ and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and [saved them] from the disgrace of that day.¹ Indeed, it is your Lord who is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allāh? May the mercy of Allāh and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."

He said, "No blame will there be upon you today. May Allāh forgive you; and He is the most merciful of the merciful.

So never think that Allāh will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.¹

And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.¹

Say, "Call upon Allāh or call upon the Most Merciful [ar-Raḥmān]. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.

Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Aware and Seeing.

Exalted is He and high above what they say by great sublimity.

And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining.¹ And he will have failed who carries injustice.²

To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. And indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

So exalted is Allāh, the Sovereign,¹ the Truth;² there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne.

And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allāh] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, [fully] Aware -

Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."

And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses; not for them was the choice. Exalted is Allāh and high above what they associate with Him.

To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

That is the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,

And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of Allāh and wisdom.¹ Indeed, Allāh is ever Subtle² and Aware.

And he had over them no authority except [it was decreed] that We might make evident who believes in the Hereafter from who is thereof in doubt. And your Lord, over all things, is Guardian.¹

Say, "Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is the Knowing Judge."¹

Say, "Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. No! Rather, He [alone] is Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

O mankind, you are those in need of Allāh, while Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

Indeed, Allāh holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing¹ and Forgiving.

Allāh is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs.

He is the Ever-Living;¹ there is no deity except Him, so call upon Him, [being] sincere to Him in religion. [All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

And it is He who sends down the rain after they had despaired and spreads His mercy. And He is the Protector, the Praiseworthy.

And to Allāh belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth. And ever is Allāh Exalted in Might and Wise.

And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep

And that it is He who causes death and gives life

And that He creates the two mates - the male and female -

Whatever is in the heavens and earth exalts Allāh,¹ and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

His is the dominion of the heavens and earth. He gives life and causes death, and He is over all things competent.

[Those] who are stingy and enjoin upon people stinginess. And whoever turns away¹ - then indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

He is the First¹ and the Last,² the Ascendant³ and the Intimate,⁴ and He is, of all things, Knowing.

He is Allāh, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed.¹ He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

He is Allāh, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign,¹ the Pure,² the Perfection,³ the Grantor of Security,⁴ the Overseer,⁵ the Exalted in Might,⁶ the Compeller,⁷ the Superior.⁸ Exalted is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.

He is Allāh, the Creator,¹ the Producer,² the Fashioner;³ to Him belong the best names.⁴ Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.⁵

There has certainly been for you in them an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allāh and the Last Day. And whoever turns away - then indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

If you loan Allāh a goodly loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. And Allāh is [most] Appreciative¹ and Forbearing,²

Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

That is because their messengers used to come to them with clear evidences, but they said, "Shall human beings guide us?" and disbelieved and turned away. And Allāh dispensed [with them]; and Allāh is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

Honorable Owner of the Throne,

Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,¹

Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.¹

He neither begets nor is born,

Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
