17:60
Open Ayah
وَإِذۡقُلۡنَالَكَإِنَّرَبَّكَأَحَاطَبِٱلنَّاسِۚوَمَاجَعَلۡنَاٱلرُّءۡيَاٱلَّتِيٓأَرَيۡنَٰكَإِلَّافِتۡنَةٗلِّلنَّاسِوَٱلشَّجَرَةَٱلۡمَلۡعُونَةَفِيٱلۡقُرۡءَانِۚوَنُخَوِّفُهُمۡفَمَايَزِيدُهُمۡإِلَّاطُغۡيَٰنٗاكَبِيرٗا٦٠
Saheeh International

And [remember, O Muḥammad], when We told you, "Indeed, your Lord has encompassed the people."1 And We did not make the sight which We showed you2 except as a trial for the people, as was the accursed tree [mentioned] in the Qur’ān. And We threaten [i.e., warn] them, but it increases them not except in great transgression.

وَإِذْWaith
قُلْنَاqulna
لَكَlaka
إِنَّinna
رَبَّكَrabbaka
أَحَاطَahata
بِٱلنَّاسِ ۚbialnnasi
وَمَاwama
جَعَلْنَاjaAAalna
ٱلرُّءْيَاalrruya
ٱلَّتِىٓallatee
أَرَيْنَـٰكَaraynaka
إِلَّاilla
فِتْنَةًۭfitnatan
لِّلنَّاسِlilnnasi
وَٱلشَّجَرَةَwaalshshajarata
ٱلْمَلْعُونَةَalmalAAoonata
فِىfee
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚalqurani
وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْwanukhawwifuhum
فَمَاfama
يَزِيدُهُمْyazeeduhum
إِلَّاilla
طُغْيَـٰنًۭاtughyanan
كَبِيرًۭاkabeeran
37:62
Open Ayah
أَذَٰلِكَخَيۡرٞنُّزُلًاأَمۡشَجَرَةُٱلزَّقُّومِ٦٢
Saheeh International

Is that [i.e., Paradise] a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqūm?

أَذَٰلِكَAthalika
خَيْرٌۭkhayrun
نُّزُلًاnuzulan
أَمْam
شَجَرَةُshajaratu
ٱلزَّقُّومِalzzaqqoomi
37:63
Open Ayah
إِنَّاجَعَلۡنَٰهَافِتۡنَةٗلِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ٦٣
Saheeh International

Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers.

إِنَّاInna
جَعَلْنَـٰهَاjaAAalnaha
فِتْنَةًۭfitnatan
لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَlilththalimeena
48:18
Open Ayah
۞ لَّقَدۡرَضِيَٱللَّهُعَنِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَإِذۡيُبَايِعُونَكَتَحۡتَٱلشَّجَرَةِفَعَلِمَمَافِيقُلُوبِهِمۡفَأَنزَلَٱلسَّكِينَةَعَلَيۡهِمۡوَأَثَٰبَهُمۡفَتۡحٗاقَرِيبٗا١٨
Saheeh International

Certainly was Allāh pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muḥammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest1

۞ لَّقَدْLaqad
رَضِىَradiya
ٱللَّهُAllahu
عَنِAAani
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَalmumineena
إِذْith
يُبَايِعُونَكَyubayiAAoonaka
تَحْتَtahta
ٱلشَّجَرَةِalshshajarati
فَعَلِمَfaAAalima
مَاma
فِىfee
قُلُوبِهِمْquloobihim
فَأَنزَلَfaanzala
ٱلسَّكِينَةَalsakeenata
عَلَيْهِمْAAalayhim
وَأَثَـٰبَهُمْwaathabahum
فَتْحًۭاfathan
قَرِيبًۭاqareeban
56:52
Open Ayah
لَأٓكِلُونَمِنشَجَرٖمِّنزَقُّومٖ٥٢
Saheeh International

Will be eating from trees of zaqqūm

شَجَرٍۢshajarin
مِّنmin
زَقُّومٍۢzaqqoomin
