9:31
Open Ayah
ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْأَحۡبَارَهُمۡوَرُهۡبَٰنَهُمۡأَرۡبَابٗامِّندُونِٱللَّهِوَٱلۡمَسِيحَٱبۡنَمَرۡيَمَوَمَآأُمِرُوٓاْإِلَّالِيَعۡبُدُوٓاْإِلَٰهٗاوَٰحِدٗاۖلَّآإِلَٰهَإِلَّاهُوَۚسُبۡحَٰنَهُۥعَمَّايُشۡرِكُونَ٣١
Saheeh International

They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allāh,1 and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary.2 And they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.

ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟Ittakhathoo
أَحْبَارَهُمْahbarahum
وَرُهْبَـٰنَهُمْwaruhbanahum
أَرْبَابًۭاarbaban
مِّنmin
دُونِdooni
ٱللَّهِAllahi
وَٱلْمَسِيحَwaalmaseeha
ٱبْنَibna
مَرْيَمَmaryama
وَمَآwama
أُمِرُوٓا۟omiroo
إِلَّاilla
لِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟liyaAAbudoo
إِلَـٰهًۭاilahan
وَٰحِدًۭا ۖwahidan
لَّآla
إِلَـٰهَilaha
إِلَّاilla
هُوَ ۚhuwa
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥsubhanahu
عَمَّاAAamma
يُشْرِكُونَyushrikoona
9:34
Open Ayah
۞ يَٰٓأَيُّهَاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوٓاْإِنَّكَثِيرٗامِّنَٱلۡأَحۡبَارِوَٱلرُّهۡبَانِلَيَأۡكُلُونَأَمۡوَٰلَٱلنَّاسِبِٱلۡبَٰطِلِوَيَصُدُّونَعَنسَبِيلِٱللَّهِۗوَٱلَّذِينَيَكۡنِزُونَٱلذَّهَبَوَٱلۡفِضَّةَوَلَايُنفِقُونَهَافِيسَبِيلِٱللَّهِفَبَشِّرۡهُمبِعَذَابٍأَلِيمٖ٣٤
Saheeh International

O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly1 and avert [them] from the way of Allāh. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allāh - give them tidings of a painful punishment.

۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyaayyuha
ٱلَّذِينَallatheena
ءَامَنُوٓا۟amanoo
إِنَّinna
كَثِيرًۭاkatheeran
مِّنَmina
ٱلْأَحْبَارِalahbari
وَٱلرُّهْبَانِwaalrruhbani
لَيَأْكُلُونَlayakuloona
أَمْوَٰلَamwala
ٱلنَّاسِalnnasi
بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِbialbatili
وَيَصُدُّونَwayasuddoona
عَنAAan
سَبِيلِsabeeli
ٱللَّهِ ۗAllahi
وَٱلَّذِينَwaallatheena
يَكْنِزُونَyaknizoona
ٱلذَّهَبَalththahaba
وَٱلْفِضَّةَwaalfiddata
وَلَاwala
يُنفِقُونَهَاyunfiqoonaha
فِىfee
سَبِيلِsabeeli
ٱللَّهِAllahi
فَبَشِّرْهُمfabashshirhum
بِعَذَابٍbiAAathabin
أَلِيمٍۢaleemin
